Meet Dr. Tenickia Polk
Who I Am
I am Dr. Tenickia Polk — a pastor, educator, life coach, and peacemaker with a lifelong calling to help individuals, families, and school communities move from conflict to connection. My work sits at the intersection of faith, emotional health, and practical transformation. I specialize in helping people regulate emotions, resolve conflict, heal from trauma, and build healthier patterns of communication — especially in environments where behavior, stress, and identity challenges are present.
My passion for empowering others is shaped by both professional training and personal transformation. I grew up in a disadvantaged community and was once labeled “off-task” in school, experiencing firsthand how unmet emotional and spiritual needs can affect behavior, identity, and opportunity. Later in adulthood, I walked through significant hardship, including relational trauma and serious health challenges. Through a life-changing encounter with God and biblical healing, I experienced restoration from the inside out. That journey now fuels my calling to help others break destructive patterns, heal deeply, and walk in lasting peace. I believe God is no respecter of persons, and that true transformation is possible for anyone willing to receive truth, grace, and guidance.
I hold a Doctoral Degree in Christian Therapeutic Counseling and a Master of Education in Educational Technology, and I am an award-winning educator with a background in special education and behavior management. My approach blends biblical truth, emotional awareness, and real-world tools that people can actually apply in daily life.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
— 3 John 2
That belief guides everything I do — helping people prosper internally so lasting change can take place externally.

What I've Done
Impact with Students & Schools
I designed and implemented The 4:29 Anti-Bullying Project, helping students:
- Reduce verbal conflict and reactive behavior
- Develop emotional self-control and accountability
- Replace negative self-talk with confidence and identity rooted in faith
Key Results from 4:29:
- •95% student buy-in and participation, even among initially resistant students
- •100% of surveyed students reported gaining tools to stop verbal bullying and harmful speech
- •88% of students reported actively using these skills to change how they speak to themselves and others
I’ve worked directly with elementary and middle school students in faith-based schools, where students reported improved behavior, reduced anger, and healthier peer relationships, and teachers experienced fewer recurring discipline issues and clearer tools for redirection.
I also led Student Ambassador and Peacemaker programs, equipping students to model positive behavior and positively influence school culture from within. Additionally, I delivered financial literacy, decision-making, and behavior management curricula in both private schools and Title I public school settings.
Impact with Parents, Educators, and Communities
I created and led Parents Peacemakers Camp, helping parents communicate more effectively with their children, de-escalate conflict at home, and address anger, unforgiveness, and emotional triggers.
I trained teachers and counselors to respond confidently to high-conflict situations, use consistent language and tools to reinforce emotional regulation, and reduce burnout by shifting from reactive discipline to preventative frameworks.
Life Coaching Impact
I have supported hundreds through workshops, conferences, counseling, and advocacy. Follow-up surveys showed 100% of participants reported that the services helped them reach their spiritual, health, and relationship goals — and said they would refer friends.
Domestic Violence Prevention & Healing
I am the founder of Community of Thrivers, a faith-based organization focused on healing, prevention, and empowerment. I also headed initiatives for the Tragedy to Hope Coalition, supporting domestic violence survivors with education, advocacy, and resources, and led annual Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness events, helping individuals move from survival to stability.
